In the 11th match of IPL 2024 held at Ekana Stadium, Lucknow, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) defeated the Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 21 runs in a close match. Krunal Pandya and Mayank Yadav were the heroes of LSG’s victory in this match.
Krunal’s Impactful Batting Display
Quinton de Kock had given a great start to LSG. He scored a half-century and laid the foundation for the team to reach a good score. After this, Nicholas Puran (42), who was captaining this match, also played a short but important innings.

When both these batters were out, Krunal Pandya not only single-handedly managed the team but also rescued it and took it to the score of 199 runs. Krunal scored an unbeaten 43 runs in 22 balls, which included four boundaries and two sixes.
PBKS’ Openers Shine
The target was 200 runs but PBKS openers faced the LSG bowlers bravely. Shikhar Dhawan (70) and Jonny Bairstow (42) took the team to 102 runs without any loss in 11.3 overs. From here the match started turning, but as soon as the wickets of these two batters fell, the match again came under the control of LSG.
Mayank’s Excellent Spell Won The Game For LSG
21-year-old Mayank Yadav bowled thunderstorms on his IPL debut. He did a great job for LSG by single-handedly getting the first two wickets. In a spell of four consecutive overs, he took wickets in each of his three consecutive overs.
